SEDNA: Satellite-aided Entanglement Distribution for Networked Applications

Adaptive entanglement distribution in satellite-assisted quantum networks through application-aware control and lightweight quantum reinforcement learning.

My participation in SEDNA as a Postdoctoral Researcher at SnT, University of Luxembourg, starts on 1 October 2026.

SEDNA is a joint project between the University of Luxembourg and Korea University. It studies adaptive entanglement distribution in satellite-assisted quantum networks, accounting for changing satellite connectivity, intermittent visibility, uncertain optical links, and limited quantum memories.

The project combines partially observable Markov decision process models with lightweight quantum reinforcement learning to develop control policies guided by application requirements. Korea University leads the learning algorithms and control modelling; the University of Luxembourg contributes quantum-network models and requirements reflecting satellite channels, entanglement generation, and memory constraints.
